I had picked up some bleeding tissue paper over the weekend and thought it would be a very fitting technique to try for today's Ways to Use It Challenge to use only red and white in honor of nurse Clara Barton. I'd pinned this technique a while ago, but didn't have the correct tissue paper for it. It doesn't work with regular tissue paper (ask me how I know!). It is super simple to do once you get your punch to go through the tissue paper! I ended up folding over the tissue so that I was going through 4 layers but even then I usually had one spot that didn't quite punch. Then it was just a liberal spritz of water and lay down the shapes. Once they'd bled out onto the paper, I used my heat gun to dry with the circles still in place. (Kind of fun to see the tissue circles fly off once dry!) For this one made a pattern but went more random on another couple of pieces I made at the same time. (See my blog post for more photos). I used my Chalkboard Marker to add some highlights on the circles. I kept my layout simple with a titled panel behind my piece. I inked my sentiment in Versamark then Real Red and embossed in clear. I added a piece of ribbon I'd stapled to a Christmas tag and used a glue dot to add it on here.
