For today's super-fun MMTPT347 ~ Whykickamoocow Meets the Wild, Wild West challenge from Susie.
It gave me a great chance to try out the Faux Stamped Leather tutorial. Unfortunately, even though I made the card bigger than my planned A2, I still ended up covering up a lot of my "leather"!
I used the cactus stamp from the Fred Bear set, and since it's not a solid stamp, I coloured it a bit with pencils before following the rest of the tutorial. Above and below I added strips of card done with the faux bandanna technique, from a long-ago TLC. Still love this technique! Fred stamped and masked, coloured with distress inks. I added a tab with a sentiment, cut from red card. I remember a while ago Kittie (747) made a wonderful Western card with plaited reins - mine didn't turn out as well. I sponged card on both sides with Walnut Stain, cut it into fine strips and just plaited them together.

Oh my Lawd - is that tooled leather and a bandanna to boot on your card?? Looks like Fred is trying out some new boots, and your plaited reins turned out spectacular! The little "howdy" tab is the perfect finish to your wonderful card for Gene!!
