I was disappointed in myself last night as my two h.s. kids had their winter awards night. I was irritated with the coach for not acknowledging my DH who volunteered with the team and with words for my kids that just fell a little short IMHO. At any rate....I found myself being "one of those moms" and though I didn't say anything out loud except to my DH I was ashamed of my attitude. So, today I'm determined to turn my grumpiness in to gratitude and write the coaches thank you notes.
I love today's muted colors-I think this card could work well for any occasion. I love this wheel with just a bit of color added. I also loved Linda's card yesterday where she added watercoloring to her scoring. I scribbled marker on acetate and also worked from ink pad lids (somehow I don't have a Wisteria marker!) with a wet brush to add a bit of color to the Slate stamping. I didn't get a butterfly when I wheeled so I wheeled onto another piece of paper and then colored and fussy cut the butterfly. I also added a bit of shimmer white and glued this butterfly flat for a one layer look. I stamped my sentiment below the scoring.

Gail, this is one neat cas card.....thanks for the shout out, so glad I could inspire you. I really like how the added lines make it look like layers. Hats off to you for sending the coaches thank you notes. It's hard to be the Mom sometimes. tfs

Wow, Gail, you are a "mensch" to rise above the slights of last night and create such a lovely thank you note. That wheel is one of my favorite ever, and I sometimes purposely avoid the butterfly so I can do exactly what you did. It's beautiful in these colors!
