This card is for Shawn, who in a previous life was my step-daughter and became the daughter of my heart (since I only had 1 child, a boy). As she has grown into womanhood, she is now my dear friend as she has a mom and doesn't need another one. I am so proud of her and I thoroughly enjoyed making this card especially for her.
It was an interesting card to make and challenged me! I had not tried inlaying and leaving part of the cut out. I added the piece to the top of the flourish as it looked a little too flat and felt like it needed a little dimension! The other flourish piece with flowers at the bottom, I added to cover the end of the embossed piece. The flowers are made from a delicious piece of pearlized paper with small de-bossed butterflies, which you cannot see. That paper was a gift from a Splitcoast friend, Darnell. The lovely ivory pearl paper that the rest of the card is made from, is another gift from another Splitcoast friend, Nancy(an early b-day gift). I used the Spellbinder edge dies to create the space around the embossed piece. I used the SU lace edge die to soften the harsh edge across the top. Punch Bunch provided the flowers in three sizes, formed with the stylus and pad. This card sort of evolved as it went along because the Swiss dot piece and the SU lace piece at the top were not part of my original design. Then those random pearls just jumped onto the page... this card is such a good example of me not being able to stop from adding MORE! It was so hard to capture the pearly wonderfulness of this card in a photograph and IRL that paper is SOOO pretty....
Thank you for stopping by for a visit. It is ALWAYS appreciated!

Wow, wow, wow, Peggy!! This is SO very beautiful and it was wonderful reading your story as to how you created this - I can see, looking very closely, the pearlised sheen to the paper but I imagine IRL it looks amazing!! Lovely story about your stepdaughter, too, so lovely you are great friends now.

What a GREAT combination of textures all in white!!! I especially loved the touches of the pearlized white card-stock--beautiful! You keep out-doing yourself with these white cards, and I don't know how you can keep doing this, Peggy!!! But I love seeing them! WOW!!!

Wow Peggy..this is spectacular! I love how you did the inlay and the way you used the birthday folder. I am going to take a closer look at the one I have..obviously it has more possibilities than I imagined! Thanks.

I am overwhelmed with your talent. What a gorgeous card. I don't know which is more beautiful: your card or your loving and kind sentiments about your former DIL. She's fortunate to have you in her life. She will so love this phenomenal card.

Your loving thoughts towards your step daughter really shine through on this card Peggy! I love the way the curves of that beautiful flourishy vine are echoed in your fancy border cuts. I really like the idea of and the way the partially embedded die cut looks! Your rogue pearls knew what they were doing and look wonderful scattered across your card. What a masterpiece!

I love your white on white cards, Peggy. This has so many wonderful details. It looks like those pearls jumped onto just the right places. The embossed sentinent is perfect since it does not detract from the rest of the card. Just gorgeous.

The first thing that struck me, besides the beauty of this card was the partial inlay. I've never seen that before - its striking! I love that your added the more - the pearls add so much elegance to the design.
