This is for LydiaÂ’s latest mixed media challengeÂ… Riced watercolouring.
Watercolour paint, watercolour paper and rice were the 3 main ingredients. The closest I had was Fresco Finish chalk acrylic paint, A4 canvas pad and cous cous.
This was so much fun. I watered the paint down and slapped it on a sheet of canvas with a wide brush, then I quickly sprinkled the dried cous cous on to it. Lydia’s instructions was to walk away, in fact ‘walk away’ was in capital letters….I walked away for 15 minutes but I struggle with ‘waiting’ so I decided to use my heart gun.
WARNING... The cous cous started to cook!!!! The smell of burning paint, canvas and cous cous is not an odour I will forget in a hurry. I digress, back to the canvas. I used a StazOn ink to stamp the flowers and reeds and added a lot of free hand strokes using a copic marker. I also added a few dabs of white distress paint.
In the spirit of mixed media I stenciled some molding paste in the corners. I think I will turn this into a cover for an A4 note book. Thank you for looking and I hope I havenÂ’t broken too many rules by substituting the ingredients. I wont push my luck by putting this in the F4A challenge..pearls....this is no ordinary cous cous, it is PEARL cous cous...
Have a great weekend everyone.

Susie, your card did turn out nicely!. I am glad that I was not the only one to experiment because I did not have the right stuff! My first attempt with paint did not turn out too well either. tfl
