Hello all! This card seems to have taken me FOREVAH but I made a list of all the DTGD14 challenges to date and just kept trying to work in more on this card, because there is NO way I could ever get one done for each challenge, much as I'd like to! LOL!
So... here's what I did:
I stamped the Hero Arts image on Gina K paper, then again on an acrylic block. I turned the block around and stamped it as a lighter reflection in the water below the original. I drew a straight line with Prisma pencil for the water line and colored everything above that line with Copics. Below that line, for the reflection I wanted a softer feel so I colored with colored pencils and made several lines across all the design, then blended with Gamsol. I then used pastel chalks to create my sky and went over other parts such as shading the "bank" at the water's edge etc. I'm sorry the photo does not show these details as well as the IRL card does. :( I did add snow and ice lines with a White Sharpie Posterpen. I die cut my window (ODBD) and adhered clear acetate to the back. Then as I was assembling the window scene, I added vellum over the water part for a more "icy" effect, adding hues of gray. I used foam tape to adhere the window to the scene so IRL the acetate window panes really show up. For the rest of the card I die cut two snowflakes, using the ODBD Snowflake die. I cut one from felt and created a felt "button", tying with some fibers from my stash. The second snowflake is some saved heavy acetate packaging which I die cut, then coated with Heat 'n Stick and then glittered. I added Stickles to my felt button and embossed the bg with a Darice snowflake EF.
Whew! If you're wondering what all these challenges were.... be sure to check out the master challenge thread! If you have not joined the Fan Club... come join it and have a lot of fun!
Thanks so much for looking!
