WooHoo Sheri gave us a fun fishing story this week in honour of Joe, the step dad of our very own Teapotter, the wonderful Carmen aka Salome000.
Here we have Poppa Joe having a nap, whilst Tilly and Billy are happily fishing. They all started out life as Sassy Cheryl digi images. I reduced the size of the kids image to suit the size of Joe.
Everything (except their skin) was coloured with Distress Inks – some areas were coloured using sponges, other areas were done with distress inks and an aquapen. I added a bit of white distress paint to the sky. I have no explanation for there being two suns hmmm.
I was lucky to grow up in a time when kids could go out all day and the only rule was to be home before dark. My brothers and I used to go fishing and I remember that they would actually pay me money to stop talkingÂ….singingÂ….dancing, you know all that girly stuff you do while you are waiting for a fish to take the bait. Seriously, who made up that rule about fish not liking noise!!
I am off to post this now. I hope all of our cards bring some sunshine to Joe and also let Carmen know how much she means to us. Thank you for looking and have a wonderful week everyone.

This is adorable! You create the cutest scenes and stories. I went fishing with one of my older brothers twice when I was about 5. Both times his hook got stuck in my skin - maybe he did it on purpose so I wouldn't tag along again - it worked!

I was the one that was in charge of the fish on the stringer after they were caught and being the one that could never stand to see anything die...I would put the stringer in the water to try to keep them alive...little did I know I was just prolonging their suffering! I spent more time trying to get my hook out of the trees when casting so I didn't get a lot of fishing done and I HATED putting the worm on (more killing) so I ended up with stringer duty. My uncle caught them and then later he would fry them (trout) up over a campfire after rolling them in cornmeal...lots of good memories. This scene you created brought a lot of those memories back. I actually thought your second sun was a "heat wave" and thought it was genius...so there! I love this delightful card and so will Joe. Faved and pinned...

Susie, your SC scene is amazing! Love the dad in the hammock (hey, hammocks are making a huge comeback with young people - my daughter just got one and it was killer expensive and she loves it and plans to use it at school between classes - it folds up really small). What a super card for this challenge. Hugz- lots of them!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What an amazing watercolor image--I'm totally blown away, Susie!!! This is WONDERFUL!!!!! You've really captured whimsy and an atmosphere that one can FEEL, now THAT takes great TALENT!!! I haven't done watercoloring really, but you have made me WANT to try something--but it would have to be very simple... I have a few basic stamps for that purpose, need to pull them out and try it... Hmmm...
This immediately went into my favorites, and I'm SO GLAD that Peggy (jasonw1) saw this card and put it in her Favorites of the Week, had I seen it, it would have gone in mine! Congratulations, this card absolutely HAD to be in Favorites of the Week, I'm so glad it was...
Your talent just blows me away, your card drew me in and I look forward to coming back and studying and hopefully learning by osmosis, for there is much to gain from studying your artwork, Susie!!!
