Ethan Allen was Audrie's chosen site for this week's IC. I need a b'day card for an "older" male friend and used this CLOCK for my inspiration since I wanted a theme of time. For the bg, I used a technique called "Faux Barn Board" which I found HERE. This qualifies my card for the MIX53...3 media used.
The inside of the card reads: "You are a masterpiece." : )

oh my goodness, Sallie, love this card for your older gentleman friend, and especially the barn wood technique! Thanks for linking it as I want to give it a go. And thanks for selecting the clock as your inspiration...I was over in the chair section and did not have the eyes to see.....
FabUlous style!

That sentiment is fabulous - I must remember it! The barn board background turned out so well - I will try that today as I'm making a card with a horse on it for the Ways to Use It challenge.

I love the weathered look you've achieved, it's simplicity is so beautiful. The more I see of the mixed media the more I think I really need try this. Thanks for inspiring me.

Gorgeous. What fabulous use you made of this technique, and love the sentiment you put with it.
