I just loved how the fish image on the plate seemed to wrap into the inner frame of it. This is my second try at an interpretation of this lovely plate. I've decided that I'm happiest with the very simplest and cleanest use of this lovely stamp...partially stamping it off to the right in the way the fish runs over to the right of the plate in my inspiration piece. I used Smoky Slate ink (love that color) for the image and lightly misted it before stamping to give it a permanently wet look. Then I used Versa Fine black (to get the strongest possible black contrast with the sentiment). Oh, by the way I just got off work, so my computer ended up being the platform for the photo....the bubbly background on my screen saver reminding me of the invisible water behind the fish on the plate! I made 4 of them and put them together as a stationery gift set of cards.
The sentiment stamp at the top is by Technique Tuesday and it says "Celebrating Daily Life". I'm in the mood for simple joys and single layer cards today!
(FYI: They are blank inside but I'd also like them if the other side of the image was repeated on the inside with a much lighter shade of grey or blue as a watermark. It would be fun to write a letter to Susan R. directly over the watermark on the inside using my favorite fountain pen.) I think she would like it (cause she's the CAS queen)!
Come play along!

AND I GOT THIS BEAUTIFUL CARD IN THE MAIL!!!!!! Aren't the rest of you green with envy? You should be, because it's even more beautiful in real life. Thank you so much, Audrie, for blessing me with such a wonderful post-holiday surprise. This and the accompanying set kept me smiling all afternoon! Now, to whom do I send the cards in the set? Only extra-special people, of course!
