For today's MIX44 Hang-Ups and also the F4A197 Let it SNOW.
It was a bit of a rush to get this done after work before the light was gone, and the concept needs a little refining but I'm happy with it. I'd been thinking of using acetate and glitter card, but paint on acetate would have taken a lot longer to dry. As it was, I was able to come home, cut, emboss and paint the ornaments and then by the time I'd had lunch they were dry. I sanded them and misted them with a Perfect Pearls spray. I scored them, then added Versamark to the crowns and embossed with gold EP. I'd been going to use 6 but that wouldn't have shown the flake off so well so I stuck with four. After sticking them together (with the cord taped to one piece) I added gold Stickles along the edges.
I really wanted to use glitter card for the flakes, but it's hard to cut with a detailed die so I settled for white card sprayed with gold paint. Each snowflake has a gem in the centre, stuck on the angle of the folded ornament.
If I have time I'd like to try this with the next size down of die, but it's always easier to start large when experimenting!!
