I found the red tape (like clear or brown packing tape) at a local one of kind dollar store and thought it would look great on a card. I find the best deals at this dollar store and I try to stop in every couple weeks or oftener.
I cut the border to the tape with Perfect Layers Rulers from Perfect Paper Crafting but I had to compromise a little because the edge of the tape isnÂ’t high enough to snug the ruler up to. I made that possible by placing my ruler on two pieces of grip action shelf liner. It was very easy to eye it and get a good line up. If you need a simple visual there is a photo in this blog link.
The snowflakes are:
Largest bottom layer – Memory Box
Middle layer – Poppy Stamps Inc. made by Memory Box
Top gold layer and medium sized snowflakes – Impression Obsession
Tiny snowflakes – Fiskars border punch (the negative pieces put to good use)
Paper: AC Cardstock – textured white, unknown smooth white (largest flakes) and Kraft, recycled greeting card – gold and glittered snowflakes
Scor-Pal was used to emboss the lines beside the Kraft borders.
Other supplies:
AleeneÂ’s tacky glue to attach flakes
The Paper Studio – red brad
Sentiment image – Hero Arts
For the envelope I marked with pencil in a few spots across the bottom and placed the tape just over the marks, trimmed the edges and wrapped it to the back of the envelope.
I did the same for the insert but cut the tape instead of wrapping to the back and added some die cut and punched snowflakes.
I forgot to do what I'd planned when posting this card so here's a link to a very similar card using blue tape, but without a sentiment or borders and it was also a dollar store find. It's an SCS gallery link - click here
Dollar store finds always make me happy!
