This week our cards are headed off to Minnisnota, oops, I mean Minnesota, and Peggy via foxy67 (Pat). Peggy has had some medical issues to deal with and could use a little cheer and happiness. We're to bring scenes that could be the Minnesota countryside. I don't have anything like that in my vast collection, so I went for the beautiful colors of autumn, done up in a sunburst. This make me think of a drive in the country on a beautiful day. The blue of the sky and lakes, with all the wonderful colors of leaves.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Now the way I do the sunburst is different from how the HYCCT tutorial does it. I cut 2 of each 2x4 piece and then cut them diagonally, but each one is in a different direction. When you do this, the pieces on each side are equal, as you use one half of each diagonal direction piece, and you get enough to make 2 cards (which I did). I also make a center piece by first marking the center and then cutting on the diagonal from each upper corner to the mark in the lower center. Does this make sense to you?
Anyhow, it comes out even for the most part (I'm rarely ever straight).
You can use the little pieces you cut from the center to fill in the small part at the bottom of the sunburst.
The sunburst is done on a 3.75x6" piece of c/s.
I hope this card will bring a little joy of this wonderful autumn season into Peggy's life.

Oh Jennifer - this one is a beauty! What a gorgeous autumn sunburst with those rich colours, and the floral centre is so wonderful. Right now, since it's really past my bedtime, I'm too tired to follow your sunburst explanation but I'll come back to it tomorrow when my brain is a bit fresher . We are always delighted to have volunteer hostesses for Tickle a Teapotter Tuesdays. All you need is an idea for a theme and a picture of a teapot to suit it.
