For today's CAS challenge, Jen asked us to make a Christmas card with stitching (actual or faux.) I have used a stitch runner and also a stitched heart stamp.
To make the dimensional "brick fireplace," I used my MFT Polaroid die. I cut one from dp and four from a recycled cracker box. I glued them together w/Alene's tacky glue. The "mantel" is cut from my double edged lace die (cut off top loops) and the trim hanging off the edge is cut from a lace die. My stocking dies were not w/my other Christmas dies (scary) so I stamped and fussy cut the stocking. I stamped and hand cut the tiny button for the center of the star and added a twine bow. After I adhered the "fireplace" to my card, I adhered the square "back" wall, pushing it down with my bone folder to make sure it was flat and in place. It looks COOL in real life because it is dimensional and the stocking is hanging over the opening. Next time I make a "fireplace," I'm going to try using this die upside down to see if it looks better with the wider pc at the top.

Wow! Way to recycle! You sure put a lot of work into this one. If you do an upside down fireplace, I would like to see it. This reminded me of an early american "oven" type.

Your fireplace bricks look so real! Love the way that came out and how cute with the stocking! This is perfect on the white with just some blue ink on the edges!
