WooHoo our Teapot recipient this week is Miss Myrtle from Indiana. Myrtle is about to celebrate her 104th birthday. The story this week was wonderful, resulting in a request to bring all sorts of fun beach things including hula dancers.
We were given a heads-up about this weeks party...get ready for a teaparty to celebrate a 104th birthday says Sheri. Of the 42,000 things you could do on your 104th birthday I would never had guessed a Luau. I pictured a serene vintage card complete with soft and feminine flowers. I sure had to switch gears when I read the challenge!!
Here we have Penny, Polly, Poppy and Aguppie, hula dancing at Myrtle Beach. The girls all started out life as Scrappin' Doodle digi stamps, as did the palm trees. I am progressing with my copic colouring. The girls are 100% copiced. Everything was going fine, Penny, Polly and Poppy looked good. Then it was Aguppies turn to have her hair done. I thought I would try a little water colouring.....yep you guessed it, too much water and the top half of her head fell off. Time was not on my side this week so I quickly fashioned a hat for her and relegated Aguppie to the back row. The greannery on the palm trees are paper pieced.
Aguppies head was not the only mishap this week. Have you noticed that none of the girls have arms (it is impossible to fussy cut stick figure arms). Only Penny has legs and feet. I was trying to curl the girls hula skirts, so I snipped the skirts and very gently dunked them in a bowl of water (can't find my water mister). I then got out my new heat gun and dried them. The heat gun was so powerful that little Polly and Poppy had their legs blown completely off. Thankfully I had learnt my lesson by the time I got to Penny, and it is for that reason alone that she is at the front. Aguppie was already a lost cause, so I just cut her legs off and modified her skirt to fit nicely at the back.
I spruced up the girls and trees with some glitter and stickles. I handmade the sign - Myrtle Beach.
Thank you for looking and have a great week AND before I go, a huge thank you for all the amazing cards and beautiful words during my reign as Queen for the Day. I am still shocked!! I am also grateful and humbled by your friendship. xx
Edit: I have just seen the picture and it looks like Polly has a moustache, it is just a shadow from Pennys hair...whew, glad we cleared that up.

Susie, Myrtle is going to be thrilled with this tropical delight! Simply fun and adorable in one great package! I love the girls and their cute hula outfits, and really love your story of how all of this came to be, mishaps and all! Reading about it brings as much joy as looking at it does!

This is just adorable Susie. If you didn't call attention to it, no one would notice they are legless, armless dancers. You are a genius at covering up glitches. But seriously, I do love your stories almost as much as your cards.

Susie, this is adorable, love your sweet little hula dancers. Your story is charming too! Some of your images go through such trauma, but they always manage to survive and make it to the party looking healthy and happy!
P.S. I don't know if you know being from down under, but there is a Myrtle Beach on the Alantic ocean coast of South Carolina!

Oh, this is too adorable and your post is so funny. I wouldn't have noticed they had no arms as I was so busy looking at the hula skirts of those beach beauties. I'm glad that was a shadow, otherwise, that would have been a really crooked mustache. HAHA Myrtle Beach is a good place to be Another fine project, Susie!!
