Misti asked us to make a card using one of the Many Colors of Cancer. This card is to honor my Mom. As some of you know she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1988. She had a mastectomy and treatments and was cancer free until last year. So I used pink to edge the oval to represent the breast cancer. The white represents the cancer she has now, lung cancer. Her oncologist says it is from the original breast cancer and she has been doing treatments. So far, the five spots on her lungs have been staying roughly the same size and I think she is doing pretty good for being 82 years old!!!
*You may notice there is a touch of purple on the outer edge. That is for my Lammie friends. Lymphangioleiomyomatosis is a rare lung disease that affects women during childbearing years and there is no cure. Lung transplant is the only option at this point. There is a BIG debate as to if it is a true cancer or not. It has many of the same characteristics, but some differences too. Thank you for reading about it too! Blessings to all!
Are you playing along with us? If not, you're missing out on the chance to lift the spirits of women battling breast cancer at MD Anderson, and also on more than $5000 in prizes from your favorite crafty companies. So what are you waiting for? Get to stamping!

Oh my goodness Kathleen what a beautiful tribute to your Mum. I wish I didn't live so very far away, I hope you can "feel" the big hug I am sending. xx
