I love the colors that Kim chose for our Color Challenge this week: Island Indigo, Pool Party and Lucky Limeade with a dessert of piercing. I'm a big blue fan so I had fun with these colors. I had seen this cool tree when I was looking at items on Saturday's Inspiration site-Jennspendants. I punched a mask and used a sponge to make my background. I inked my stamp with Limeade then used a Chocolate Chip marker for the trunk and branches. Unfortunately I got a smear on my white section so I ended up cutting it to a much smaller size and rounding the corners. I didn't have a circle pattern for piercing so I used a heart shaped one and shifted it around my sponged circle. I used the Striped ef to emboss my Island Indigo piece. I rounded the corners and used my piercing mat pack to pierce corner accents. I made a brad bow using some retired Blue Bayou stitched ribbon and a star brad. My sentiment was stamped on a punched Modern Label then masked with a Word Window and sponged with Limeade.

Gail, you main focal panel is so beautifully done with sponging and stamping. The surrounding layout and piercing are well thought out and add to the overall appeal of your card.

I love what you did with the tree, great detail and coloring. Great interpretation of the challenge, but I guess that's why you are a design honcho for CC'S! Also, great use of masking.
