Our Tea Party is going to Perryville, MO this week....just down the interstate from me. : ) A friend of Sylvia's(sillyfilly) is having some serious health problems and we are going to try to bring him some cheer with our cards.
I'm not a camper and never have been.(I like my porcelain fixture with the little handle) : ) SO......I'm not too familiar with what the inside of a camping tent looks like, but that is the view I wanted to create....looking out from the tent opening. The outdoor bg was created by smearing inks on a craft sheet, misting with water, then pressing the white paper down on it.

For never having gone camping, your tent looks perfect, Sallie! And I love that view from the inside looking out! This might surprise you, but I know exactly the place this is at too; up on Skyline Drive! It's about a 40 minute drive from my house to the area, then the Drive is 105 miles with stops along the way and gorgeous overlook views! Oh, and your smearing work is absolutely beautiful!

I'm with you on the camping scene, Sallie. I too love my porcelain handle. That being said, you nailed this one! What an absolutely creative and beautiful card for a camper. He is going to absolutely love this, and this is going into my FAVES (and I am sure many other's) :-)

I'm not going to look through all the gallery till I've had a lie-down for an hour and hopefully have less of a headache, but I just had to say how much I loved this! I toyed with the idea of a tent flap myself, but I couldn't have come up with anything like your wonderful woodland scene. The stitching in the "canvas" is so perfect - it reminds me of the old tent we used to have for camping in the garden ;-).
Sallie this is amazing! What a great idea and your scene is gorgeous. We go camping a lot. But...we have a horse trailer with living quarters. A real bed, air conditioning, the porcelain handle and all the comforts of home. A girl I worked with said she could never picture me camping anywhere other than the Hilton until she saw our trailer!!! I love the outdoors but I like the comforts of home. This is a wonderful card and I know it will be loved. Thank you.

This is CLEVER! I love it. Not only that fab tent, but the beautiful scene outside of it.
By the way, the view outside my tent usually looks grey and wet. Therefore, I would like to lobby The Girl Scouts to offer a "Five-Star Hotel" patch! Terri - aka The Anti-Camper.

Good grief, this is just beautiful! You smeared those inks to create that gorgeous colorful background?! Amazing. Love the outdoor glimpse. The tent with the folded back flap is so creative. Love it!
