I chose this piece as my inspiration for today. I would have gone with a red bg but didn't have the right paper. It's really overcast here today so I had a difficult time getting a good picture..it may appear more green than it is...it's a rich teal color. I wanted to make the bg look like a moire taffeta like the actual piece so I used a bg stamp with versamark and embossed with clear ep. And I had the card all done but wasn't happy with it as the first image I used for the cameo turned out to look teeny tiny on the card. So I stamped this larger image and I like the way it looks..better proportion.
As an aside..did any of you watch the Saturday Today show today?? They took a tour of the PEEPS factory!! It was AWESOME seeing how all the little sugary treats were made..I know I'll be indulging later today (oh and FYI- I have a string of peeps lights on my stairway right now).

Talk about GORGEOUS!!! WOW! Pol, your card is fabulous!!! All the work you put into your background is so worth it, it is amazing! And I agree, those colors are wonderful together and I prefer yours to the red also! Your cameo is beautiful, she is lovely and I love the way she is looking over her shoulder. The gold you used, makes the card seem so RICH$$$! Already put into my favorites as soon as I saw it! Love it all!!! Happy Peepster!!!!

Polly I love how you created your background!! You have nailed this challenge!! Your card with the gold trim and fantastic image is just gorgeous!! Don't eat to many peeps!! Hee Hee! Happy Easter!
Oh Polly! This is stunning! I agree with everyone else-- the green is better than the red, and I love how you made your bg. The little lady you stamped is just lovely w/her flowers in her hair too. I want you to know that I've only looked at 3 other cards (they belonged to my mom and sis), because I haven't even had time to make mine yet. But, I had to look at yours 'cause I know how you love Victorian. I may have had time to make at least one card if I could have taken my eyes away from that site!! LOL I love it!

Awesome work, Polly! Thanks for describing how you made the bg. I was scratching my head for a while, as I looked at your beautiful card. The bronze oval and rectangle frames are so striking and beautiful! Lovely image too.
