I had a fun but messy time this morning making this background! I used oil pastels which I smooshed around with baby oil gel. Then I applied some watered down gesso and splattered it using a toothbrush. Thanks for the tip Tiff about first putting it in a box to prevent all the splatter from going everywhere!

What a fabulous background you have created, Polly, and sounds as though you had so much fun doing it!! It looks really great and I love your layout with the music score and the one and only Elvis!! Bit of trivia for you - we have a country town here in NSW where, in January, they hold an Elvis weekend and many of the "Elvises" & "Priscillas" travel there by train!! Must be a hoot to be there!!

It's been one of those weeks. I have the "moody blues." Your card just has me "All Shook Up." Maybe I'll skip going to "heart break hotel" and go shopping for some "Blue Suede Shoes" instead! If I sat here long enough I could go on and on! Love Elvis!! Love your card too! Great background and I love the music notes behind him. Can you believe my daughter's teacher said Bruce Springstein was the king?!! Bruce is 'the Boss' and he's pretty good, but he's no King! I told her that her teacher is simple. We all know who the king is! I wonder if there is a limit on how long your comment is? lol! Anyway, Great card!
