When you're weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes, I'll dry them all
I'm on your side, oh, when times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
One of my favorite songs of all time popped into my head this morning. And I'm reading David McCollough's book about building the Brooklyn Bridge. I used those two things for my inspiration today and didn't really choose a specific bridge image. I searched the web for bridge pictures but when I saw this photo, I thought 'how perfect': a couple walking hand in hand on railroad tracks and below their hands, a puddle of water. After all, people should be bridges too. I had this sentiment that mirrored my feelings about bridges and walls and people and Simon and Garfunkel's wonderful song. The song was my high school graduation (1970) theme, which couldn't have been more perfect for that time in history. And the fact that Angela Davis, one of the most influential people for good or for bad at that time, said this quote was very fitting too. I'd probably send this to someone who is having a hard time personally. As you can tell, a lot of thought went into this very simple card.

What a creative mind. I love that song too. At first glance I thought your staples were stitching which always ad warmth, but you need metal on a bridge, don't you. What a wonderful creation.
