On this card I created a background with newspaper and Gesso. Painted the background with Distress Inks. Then I applied Gesso in to the negative space from a die cut and for the "Leaves". Then I used my heat tool to give it dimension!

Birgit, I would give ANYTHING to have your artistic talent. Just when I think you have just made something so gorgeous that there's no way you could outdo it, you do THIS. I can't believe that you, Beate, Blue and the other artists on SCS give so much of yourselves, for FREE, to people like me who want to keep their creativity flowing, love to create but never knew HOW. Even the membership, 20 bucks a year, is almost ridiculous; I can't even THINK about taking ONE class for 20 bucks! That's why I joined. I promise that I will do everything I can-membership, clicking through links to shop, whatever it takes-to keep SCS alive. To think there might be a day I couldn't wake up and be inspired and motivated to create, along with having tutorials and personal access to the wealth of talent and knowledge that you and the rest provide, because of 20 bucks and a lack of loyalty to the advertisers here just terrifies me. I'm sorry...what started as a post to thank you, somehow became diatribe on my gratitude to SCS, its artists and seemingly tireless contributors, as well as a push to the others, like myself, who have the ability to show our gratitude by joining and supporting the advertisers to do just that. For the record, my profession for over 2 decades is in radio so I understand the importance of supporting advertisers-my job RELIES on it-and why I said what I did here. I wanted to state that in case someone thought I was secretly an SCS employee. Of course, one look at my gallery should satisfy that suspicion. HAHAHA I just tend to go on tangents and, while ruminating on my good luck to have this site and the wealth of education available to me here, I wanted to encourage those like me to make the jump to become a member for 20 dollars a year and to remember to 'click through' to shop the advertisers...something even I tend to forget more often than not. Wow. I may have outdone myself here, guys. What I MEANT to say is Birgit, you are downright AMAZING!
