Cathy’s Ways to Use It challenge today is to use the sponging technique on your card. I started out with an almost winter white linen cardstock for the back drop of the main image and sponged on the color to create a color very similar to the designer paper background. I used Ranger’s Distress Ink colors – Old Paper and Weathered Wood to change the color. It was also stamped with Stampin Up’s Linen for some added texture. I did the same technique and scoring pattern on the insert.
I used the Scor-Pal to emboss the lines in both directions after the sponging was done and then added a few more sponge swipes to enhance the embossing.
The teacup was colored with Copic markers: roses – P20,35,37,46, G82,94,99, blues – B91,93,95, greys – C00,0,01, sugar packet – Rs0,21,22,24, blender, honey – Y20, 23,24, blender, wand – E31,33
A Krylon gold leafing pen was used to add the gold after those areas were masked off.
Sakura silver metalic gel pen was used to color the spoon.
The pearls were attached with AleeneÂ’s Paper Glaze. This product was also applied on the honey for a shiny finish.
The ticket punch from Stampin Up was used to cut the corner notch.
The corners were cut with Stampin Up/EK Success large corner rounder punch .
The Perfect Layers tools from Perfect Paper Crafting is an excellent way to cut the borders. Use any brand craft knife or rotary cutter for cutting. A tutorial video can be found on the company site.
