This is my card for Bonnie (bon2stamp), this week's Featured Stamper. Bonnie has so many great cards in her gallery, when I saw she was the FS, I just knew I had to find time to play along.
I selected this stunning birthday card to CASE. I chose to stick with Bonnie's color choices, floral focal image and layout. I changed the choice of flowers and the occasion, added a black mat behind my focal image and, since I am extremely bow challenged, I skipped her pretty bow/ribbon element.
I stamped my image with Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. I then cropped the image and used clear Versamark with clear detail EP to cover the entire image. (Did 2 coats). Attached to my white base and stamped my sentiment.
Congratulations, Bonnie! I hope you've enjoyed your week in the spotlight!

This is a beautiful. I would like to try this technique, but notsure how the black background came about. I read the steps over and over. Can someone let me know if a step is missing. Thank.
When I grow up I'm going to make beautiful cards like guy guys ( smile)!

Terrolyn -- The stamp has a solid background with the flowers "cut out." So the black inkpad I used, which was a dye pad, made the black background, but it wasn't shiny. So, after I colored the flowers, I took a Versamark (clear) embossing ink pad and totally covered the image -- flowers, background -- and used clear embossing powder to put a clear shiny coat on top of the image. Hope that helps.
