This week our cards are going off to Heath in Oklahoma! Heath was in a horrible industrial accident and is in need of some of the Teapotter's cheer and well wishes.
Heath loves to fish and hunt, but it looks as if that will be something he does again in the far off future. Thus the cards that are hunting, and fishing related. Heath also loves the English American Coon Hound and the Bluetick Coon Hound. Sounds like good ole huntin' dogs to me.
Well, I didn't bring any of that. Heath is also very much a religious man, so that's the avenue I went. I love the verse that is on the front of this card. It is good for many of the different situations that life throws at us.
Do you ever get an ef that wants to cut through your design? Well this is one of them. So, I had to finish cutting the oval from embossed panel. It works, but that is not what I bought this pretty frame for. I even tried different plates, though I didn't try the Vagabond. So if you notice that the edges on the inside of the oval and around the oval are a little off kilter (like me), that's what happened.
The verse is computer generated and it fit perfectly within the oval. I used a size 16 font for the general part of the verse and a 22 and italics for the capital letters. The font is Lucida Handwriting, with the capital letters being the Script MT Bold font.
Flourishes and crystals were added to fancy it up a bit.
My thoughts and prayers to Heath and his family.

I wouldn't have noticed anything about the frame if you hadn't said - and I'm still looking. The dramatic black and white just keeps the eye focussed on that .
But I do know how frustrating it is when something that should cut doesn't, or something that shouldn't does. I hope you find a way to get the folder to work for you.

Jennifer - this is breathtaking!! I love the Quote you used - very apropos for Heath (and I am impressed with the knowledge you have of how to mix up your fonts for the quote) Love that EF and the way you added the gorgeous black flourishes. I know he will so appreciate this thoughtful card from your heart!
