Congratulations to our latest featured stamper, Debbie (aka swldebbie) and to last Friday's new crowned queen, Angela (aka Arizona Maine).
I loved browsing through their beautiful galleries. I was inspired by this lovely CAS Christmas card of Debbie's Christmas Card and by this beautiful Blue Jay card of Angela's.
I used birds as both of them did, They are the focal point of their cards as mine is.
Enjoy your time in the spotlight - both of you are very deserving of this honor.
I am also putting this in Friday's Free 4 all challenge - wood.
I made a faux wood frame and the chickadee's are resting on a branch. I scored the lines on the cream cardstock in a diamond grid design. Next I sponged lightly along the lines to give it more dimension. I cut out the center rectangle with a spellbinder die. Stamped the weather backgrounder on a scrap piece of cream gemstone paper and cut out the rectangle shape to lay inside the diamond grid panel. Coloured and cut out the chickadees and popped them up. Added the cream leaf springs. Stamped on the sentiment from Stampin Up's Bird on a Branch set - used my stamp a ma jig to get it straight. Applied diamond stickles around the center rectangle. I stamped weather backgrounder onto cream card stock. Cut out 3/8" strips. Sponged edges. Mitered the corners, attached frame and then added the mini brads.
Thanks for looking,
Hugs..Pat

Oh, Pat, love that sponged grid BG - it is such a peaceful and serene card with the 2 birds perched quietly on the branch - love the framed wood look too - how clever you are!!

OMGoodness - this is one of my favorite Chicadee cards ever!! I love Chicadees - they're so fun to watch at the feeders. But this card combines many of my favorites - and I especially love the rustic feel of it. Wonderful CASE !!!!!!!!!!

I have just seen this beautiful card of yours, Pat, so much wonderful detail. Love your chickadees in the corner, the diamond scoring looks amazing as does the weathered texture!!
