This is the idea I had when I saw the sketch this morning - it looked better in my imagination than it does on card, but I don't have time to make another today although I loved the sketch.
A2 card, pink and cream cardstock, edges sponged with brown.
I used TLC324 to make my main panel, using Birds and Vines and pink, brown and green markers. I added pearl brads to the ribbon strips.
HA sentiment stamped in brown and popped up on foam tape.

What a pretty card. I was thinking of using ribbon for my 3 horizontal strips, but couldn't seem to figure out a way to make it look nice. But you sure did. Very nice indeed!

I do know what you mean when a card doesn't come out on paper as it did in your head
BUT
do not be bummed... This card is gorgeous!!!!
I would have never thought of "coloring/outlining" the embossing folder pattern
