This week our cards are going to wish a young man for a Happy 12th Birthday. Hunter is the older brother of Nate and Will, whom recently celebrated their 6th birthday. This family has been through a rough past year, with their Mom being diagnosed with intestinal cancer, treatment and then going into Gods arms less than a month ago. So here come the Teapotter's once again to bring some cheer to this family.
Hunter loves Harry Potter, for me this was a stretch. I've seen parts of some of the movies and haven't read the books. So I am only going by what I know, and what DH has told me.
I found the sorting hat online, enlarged it and cut it out. I made the glasses, (not bad I'd say), I just couldn't get the darned things squeaky clean. Acetate is hard to keep clean.
I know we are supposed to be seeing through Harry's eyes, but that's a pretty dark world, and our world is dark enough in reality. I did get a nice quote from one of the movies, there's some really good ones there, that fit with our real world.
This card is on it's way to Hunter, wishing him a wonderful Birthday and year ahead.

Your hat and your your starry sky look just great. Neat ear-pieces that you can see on the glasses, very realistic looking. Oh boy, I know what you mean about acetate being hard to keep clean. I've tried a couple of acetate card bases over the years, but it's all too easy to wipe off some of your stamping when you're trying to clean the fingerprints!!

Another wow. Your elements are so lifelike . It looks as though you've mounted a fabric hat and kid's glasses right on the card. Hunter will certainly appreciate it. A very cute card.

This is a perfect Harry Potter card - you picked a super sentiment to go with glasses (you did an excellent job on them by the way) and the sorting hat. I have seen all the movies and read all the books - I love them. Fun card and it is perfect for Hunter.
