Today's challenge was to Cross Strips and Wendy challenged us to use up some of our strip scraps. I'd had this idea floating around in my mind for some time, and her challenge nudged me to get it done!!! I didn't weave or cross my strips, but the cross pattern of the embossing I used will just have to count. Don't send the challenge police after me please!
I took a base piece of Whisper White and covered it in a thin coating of multipurpose glue. I had scrounged through my strips and found these masculine colors (honestly...I only cut a couple of strips on purpose the rest were from my stash!). I mixed up the lengths and widths...kind of reminds me of a tile backsplash. I then cleaned up with an adhesive remover...your best friend with this technique, then ran it through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I adhered this piece to a card base, added a few circles and a word window sentiment and it was done. I ended up using a top fold card and running the strips vertically....they had started looking like skyscrapers to me! My hubby said it looked like a lot of work, but it was a really quick card since I had the scraps ready to go.
