QFTD54: Lois (clownmom) was our Queen For The Day last week. Belated congratulations, Lois. I really enjoyed browsing your gallery and changed my mind so many times on which card to case. Your cards are all so beautiful. Here's the one I finally cased: FEB11VSNK Vellum Frame_lb by Clownmom at Splitcoaststampers
I used the Finial Press embossing folder to create the vellum "frame". Hope you enjoyed your reign!
WT317: Julia challenged us to use decorative scissors for this week's Ways To Use It challenge. I have to admit, I haven't touched my scalloped scissors for more than 2 years. There were sitting there at the bottom of a plastic box with my other scissors, yes the ones I bought when I first started paper crafting. Fancier tools came along, and these faithful workers were soon forgotten. Thanks, Julia, for reminding us that good things can be created with these humble tools. The flowers were made by cutting a circle, then a spiral with the scallop scissors. I then twilled the spiral to make the roses. There is a fancy name to this technique, but I don't remember it. If you happen to know, please don't hesitate to remind me. The leaves were cut with straight edge scissors. TFL!
