Hello! This card was made for today's Featured Stamper challenge: DandI93. I chose to CASE, (Copy And Share Everything), This Card for today's Challenge.
Now, I've been cruising the SCS Forums the past few days and have found a BUNCH of new stampers with those questions I used to post. I found myself, more than once, shaking my head at some of the answers SEASONED stampers gave to the newbies...Don't you use heat embossing all the time? I know that I do, and thought EVERYONE did! I was pretty darn shocked at some of the answers...And, a question about "What important tools MUST I get?" I use my CUTTER and a HEAT TOOL EVERY SINGLE card I make...I suggested getting a GREAT cutter, and to skip over wasting so much money on the slide and then the rotary cutters and just jumping straight in and getting a Tonic guillotine cutter. I KNOW that was my best choice. I remember getting so frustrated at a crop, I picked up my cutter and THREW it across the room. (It was a "slide type" and it had ruined all 18 of my wedding photos...Every one of them had wavy edges!) No one got hurt...It was by the door and went straight out into the parking lot...Good, really, because that LSS had a Tonic ready to sell me! LOL! And they sold 5 more during that crop because of my destroyed photos.
On to the card! I used a butterfly from Mark's Finest Papers, (so did the card I CASED...I just changed which butterfly!LOL) I changed the center die to a circle and added a ribbon and half pearls. I also changed the color combo. However, I think the "simple design" says it all on this card. Flowers were made with an MS punch. The leaves are a Sizzix die cut. The butterfly was stamped in VersaMark onto Wowza Watercolor paper and embossed in Copper. I used Memento marker and an aqua painter to color in the butterfly. I didn't like how the edges seemed to blend into the background paper, so I used a COPIC Black marker to outline the butterfly.
Finished card size: 4 3/4" square
Total time to complete: 32 minutes

beautiful card Faith, love the colors and your gorgeous butterfly.. I've been on scs for almost 2 years and I still feel like a newbie. I started out with a heavy duty guillotine type cutter, but had to pack it when we decided to put the house up for sale. I use a couple of other ones now that are easy to put away for a showing. I'm always thrilled when I get a cut that is straight, I've learned a few tricks using my cutter, but sometimes it's just me, lol I don't know all the techniques and all the rules, but I have fun trying new things out and scs gives me that.... You are a great inspiration here on scs, and thanks for playing and casing one of my cards, big hugs, Irene
