Today's challenge was sunshine . It's sunny here these days, DH has been spotted out in the garden in just a shirt. But the forecast goes back to cloudy for the weekend.
This card is the size to fit a business envelope.
Lots of texture going on - the sea panel is made with Bazzill for the base, sandpaper for the sand and some textured scraps for the sea. Stickles along the waves, and some clear microbeads for the surf along the shoreline.
Sun panel is a Bazzill base, sun is punched from self-adhesive velvet paper, and I cut the rays.
Frames are chipboard from the back of a paper pad, painted first with gesso and then with white Distress Crackle Paint.
Sand from Shore Thing stamped on the base with Antique Linen. The pilings are stamped on wood with StazOn Timber Brown. I used a paper piercer to make the holes to thread the twine round. Pilings and gull both from StarvingArtistamps.
Seagulls in the picture panel are from a Kittie Kits Create-a-Scene.
To frame it I added pale blue eyelets in each corner and used more twine.
This reminds me of a day once when I was visiting a friend - we went for a walk up to the top of the hills behind her parents house, and looking down at the sea it looked so enticing in the sun. So we picked up her swimming stuff, went past my house and picked up mine and went to the beach. By the time we got there it was in shadow, but having driven that far we went for our swim anyway .
