Holly's technique challenge today was to make a Sliding Pop Up card. Well, I love learning new techniques, so I just had to give this a try. And when Kim tells you in her video to make sure your band is snug (but not too tight), make sure it is snug so that the popped-up card will stay open!!! I always seem to have to learn things the hard way. Sigh.
I also made this for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday challenge to make a card that is flight related. Our cards are going to Sean this week, who is a 23 year old man fighting testicular cancer. You can read the full story in the Teapot Tuesday challenge forum under MMTPT132.
Da Mudder told us to "bring airplanes, bring kites, bring things in mid flight! Bring copters and gliders, and air force fighters. Bring an unidentified flying object, I really like your logic! Brings things in mid flight into our sight. Let's fill up the sky with things that go high, things that can fly, or perform a dangerous fly-by!"
I just got my new Punch Bunch stamp set and the owl punch, so I wanted to use him for my design today. Yes, Mudder owls do fly, although I know you think they just rest on tree limbs all de time saying "Who? Who? Who threw the blue shoe? Does anyone have a clue?" Or mebbe that's Bertie that says that.....hmmmm.....
(My sentiment "I'm Hootin' for You" is computer generated.)

Aha, now I don't need to spend time checking the TPT challenge before work . I had a feeling I'd be getting Snoopy out again today when I looked at the sneak peek on Sunday night. Of course owls fly, they just have some special adaptations that make them extra quiet in flight - stealth birds . This makes your wonderful starry night card a double winner in my book.

Oh yes, I had that problem with the wrap-around bit on my first one. And my pop-up tabs weren't really stiff enough either. Making a second one is definitely easier ;-).

Rut roh! We teapotters are in big big trouble. We are now banned from the State of Nebraska....it seems some stealth bomber (from New Zealand) got a blue shoe in its......in its....in its thingies that make it fly and it discombobulated the spinner thingies and made the stealth not so stealth. That's fighter pilot talk for you crashed the plane Bertie and now we gotta get outa here! No, my kite can't carry all us teapotters, can your owl??? Hey, you started this thing.....just keep your eyes open for the other teapotter aircraft and keep your fingers crossed that they see us under this stealth bomber of Kim's!
Whisper! Love this.....keep those owls handy for next week! Cute card Bertie!

Right into my favorites, Charlene!! I love the punched owl on the branch as your "flyer". TFS!
