Hello. This card was made for todayÂ’s Inspiration Challenge: Barbie Collectibles. I chose THIS BARBIE as my inspiration. It also fits this weekÂ’s StampinÂ’ BÂ’s Challenge to use a banner on your card.
IÂ’m turning over a new leaf and trying to make a card a day, no matter what time, where, etc. IÂ’ve been suffering from my RA this month, big time. And, I am now prone to crying jags during the night, while IÂ’m trying to stop thinking about the pain. I have never had this much pain before, and IÂ’m fairly certain it has to do with the extreme cold we are dealing with here in North Florida. DonÂ’t get me wrong, I LOVE cold weather. However, my hands and toes are just killing me.
I love gold and black together. I really LOVE that regal, rich look. I decided to stamp the teacup in AdirondackÂ’s Pitch Black and then I used a gold leafing pen to add in the highlights! Wow! Talk about no time at all! Then, I decided I wanted to get the laurel piece on this card, like the doll. Well, wouldnÂ’t you know that Tim Holtz has a die that has the laurel?! LOVE it! I cut out the laurel from Snow Storm Smooth 100lb and then pressed a VersaMark pad all over the die and then embossed it in gold. Then, I decided to stamp the flower vine from Brick Wall in VersaMark and embossed that in gold. I LOVE the look it gives to the bottom panel. Then, to finish off the top, I ran the Snow Storm Smooth panel through a new Sizzix Texture Folder called Plaid! LOVE IT!!!! I ran the leafing pen over the edge of the banner and the oval to carry the effect throughout the focal point.
Finished card size: 4 ¼” x 5 ½”
Total time to complete: 57 minutes. I spilled my Diet Coke down my front, jumped up and splashed the ENTIRE stampinÂ’ table! YUCK! The clean up continues!

Faith, this is so regal and rich looking! Love the look you achieved with the gold leaf pen (bty, when I was looking at the close up of your card, the ad at the top of the page was for gold leafing, etc!)
