Hi! This card was made for today's Clean & Simple Challenge: Flower Accents. I chose to use the Premium Paper Flower today.
This past week has, unfortunately, been very stressful for us. My son, Nick is now stationed in Korea on the DMZ. If you watch the news, you know that I am frightened. Every night that I don't get an email, I worry. He went 9 days without an email. Then, yesterday, we got one. Short, but we got one! Then, with my father's problems...well, we have just been taking it one day at a time. Mother refuses to go home if he doesn't get help. And, he promised to stop drinking. Well, you and I both know that will NOT happen. He's stopped drinking many times. However, he starts back up. For some cheerful news, I got to eat my OWN fried turkey on Thursday. Yep, Mark fried 5, and one was ALL mine! My grandmother insisted upon making a baked turkey to take in to my mother, but the darn thing took 2 more hours than expected, so Mother didn't get any of it. However, she cleaned her plate of the fried turkey, Honey Ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean cassorole, yams and cranberries. She finished off with pumpkin pie! Yep, the woman was determined to enjoy that meal. And, it's funny...Mark MADE IT ALL! The ham was BETTER than any Honey Baked Ham store ham I've ever had, and that's saying something! He is a DREAM in the kitchen! And, we only went to 3 stores on Black Friday, as my grandmother's flight out was VERY eary on Friday Morning! (So, we did a BUNCH of shopping on-line!)
The card took about 11 minutes to make...I embossed the card base with a TH Texture Folder. Next, I cut out the oval and stamped on the sentiment and the pine. I colored in the pine with Copics and popped on the poinsettia Premium Paper Flower.
Finished size: 5 1/2" x 4 14"
Total time to complete: 11 minutes

Gorgeous card, as always, Faith. My son spent a year in Korea, so I do know what you're going through with that part of your life. I pray for his safe return home, and for you to have strength and hope while he's there. My prayers for the rest of your family also. And it looks like you have the makings of a chef in Mark!

Faith, your card is simply stunning!
I am sorry to hear about your Father. I have been there...done that. Fortunately treatment worked for my Dad. There is always hope. My prayers go out to you and your family.

I love all the white space and the pine, but the RED is still the best part!!
