My Mom died last Monday after a long and fearless battle with illness and poor health. She was at peace with the ending of her life and had all her loved ones nearby as we said our good-byes. I made this card in her memory, a wreath of flowers and leaves seems fitting as she told a chaplain at the hospital her Higher Power was nature. I thank all of you who sent her many beautiful raks over these last years and we had such joy examining them and discussing each card's virtues and unique qualities, colors and techniques and artistry! As well as examining the postmarks which came from as far away as Ireland and Canada.
It was her wish to have donations made to the food bank in lieu of flowers, so may I ask those who might send a sympathy card to me to instead throw a can of soup in that bin in the grocery store which collects for the local hungry? I thank you all for looking and embrace the SCS community as part of my loving family.

So sorry to hear about your mom, Nancy Ruth. What a beautiful story and beautiful card to honor her with. I'll be sure to think of her as I donate can goods during the weekly shopping trips. God's peace and blessings be with your family as you grieve. Healing hugs.

Nancyruth, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I know how difficult this must be for you. My Mom passed away right after my son was born and it broke my heart and still does that she never got a chance to see him. Your Mom sounds like she was a sweet lady and I will make some additional contributions to our food bank in her honor today. Blessings and a big hug to you.
