Oh boy, last night I just couldn't think of a way of combining the ODBD challenge to use a ribbon, a charm and one other embellishment - non floral - with Mothermark's Destination Station this week. No flowers - no go. But then I saw the sketch this morning. When I saw Dawn's original upload, I felt it was a great way to use scraps. But for this card, I had to start from scratch to provide the frills and flounces I needed for the tea-party . Brought me right back to my first full-time cooking job, where I made aprons for all the waiting staff. They were a pretty red floral print, more to my taste than what I've made for Martha's Bloomers.
A 2 base, with about a quarter inch trimmed off the top so it will fit my regular square envelope. Covered with pink paper stitched around the edges - thanks Peggy, I think . I cut the strips for the bottom of the card, stitched on gathered lace and then stuck them to card for extra strength. From my very small collection of charms I found one that went with the verse. Funny, that was the one verse in the set I thought I'd never use, but it seems to fit with Gery's situation. My other embellishment is a button.

Definitely a card for the girls with all the gingham and lace! Very pretty!
