What a great IC Stef and Gail! I was inspired by two for this card, but could easily have picked moreÂ…..detailsÂ…..
DH has so many beautiful pots in the backyard, so I was naturally drawn to this one. I cut out three different size circles with my coluzzle, snipped the top and bottom. I then painted them with acrylic paints using a new to me technique, dry brush painting. I use to tole paint, so I still am fascinated with new painting ideas.
Yesterday while looking for a butterfly stamp to make a QFTD19 card for MariLynn, I discovered I had this way cool butterfly die. Then today for the IC, I saw this silver butterfly pendant. So I put some metal repair tape on cs, ran it through the die to cut it and then ran it through again to emboss it. I think it turned out rather well.
For my bg, I stamped the SU-weathered stamp on very vanilla cs with vintage photo, then ran it through the cb. I then sponged more color over the eb parts and edges.
Took a white cs panel and sponged the edges with barn door. Put my panels on a black card that I cut the opening edge with scalloped scissors.
Arranged my pots on the card and asked DH if they looked alright. He said yes, but leave off that other thingÂ…Â…that thing being the butterfly. So, do you think I should have left off the butterfly like DH suggested? Your feed back will be greatly appreciated. hehe
I did go with the butterfly popping up the wings. Well another fun IC. Hope you like my cardÂ….TFL :0)
Hi Sis! Hope you are having fun in KansasÂ…Â…who goes to Kansas? hehe

Awsome job on the pots! The butterfly is very cool but I can see the point of your dh. Smooth and shiny compared to rustic. However, I actually like the contrast so I think you were right to put it on.

Love the "earthy" look of your card!! I am amazed how you did the butterfly - I thought it was a metal embellishment!!! Awesome job with this great case to honor MariLynn, who is constantly inspiring us with her beautiful cards!!

You just go tell Byron the butterfly needs to stay right where it is. I love that trio of ceramic pots. I've actually read about dry brushing, but when I think about it, once you dip your brush into the paint, it's no longer dry or so I think. You've strategically placed your butterfly to enhance the perception of a beautiful back yard in Citrus heights off Madison or is it off Greenback?
