I've never used grey on a card before, so this is a first for me! I had to start gently, so there's only a bit which I used to mat the main panel. I rarely use dark colours as a base card, so this whole card was way out of my comfort zone!
As well as grey, I used the other 2 colours in the colour challenge which are Apricot Appeal and Sage Shadows. I used black as my neutral.
The design is partly inspired by a coaster I saw at my SIL's at the weekend, and I knew this stamp from Good Neighbours would be perfect for it. Each leaf is embossed in silver and cut out. The sentiment is also embossed in silver.
Thanks for taking a closer look!

Very Nice! I am slightly color blind/impared, and I always ask hubby for ideas on adding a color to a card, and many times he says gray. I had to purchase some gray - which I found by accident at Big Lots, and it works in many cases.... take care.

Oooh Sally, this is gorgeous! I'm not a fan of gray either but it always seems to add a lot to the combination. I love how your leaves just pop out on the black and the silver embossing makes it so elegant. A WOW card for sure! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Sally, this is yummy! Your mind is always working, isn't it? I am sure that coaster had your craft side going wide open as to what you would do. I love this and the black bg looks great.
Edit: I'm back to tell you how wonderful the silver embossing looks.

Very cool work with the peel offs!! If I'm not mistaken -they are very popular in the UK, are they not? Very striking CAS card! Great design!!! I'm going to order up some extra apricot appeal!! It's just so delightful of a colour!!!

Wowsa Britz, you did GREAT with the colors. I saw those colors and ran far, far away. The last time I did a color challenge using grey, I almost had a nervous breakdown. A lady from Canada commented she liked it, so I told her, IT'S YOURS!! I mailed it and was afraid it got lost in the mail or would be returned to me. I HAD TO GET RID OF THAT CARD!!! LOL!! You, on the other hand, nailed the challenge with utmost beauty. My gosh, could those embossed leaves be any lovlier? And, everything so straight and perfect just the way Fruitflakezi likez it!! I can't wait till you are crown QFTD. Wouldn't that be so appropriate since you live in London and from time to time share tea with the Queen???? TFS!!!
