Crisanne is in a jam and needs our help with Chris, her fiance, who is totally stressed over a crossword puzzle competition. Looks like Crisanne is going to need some kind of a roof over her head, so I'm bringing this birdhouse for her.
I had purchased this little chipboard birdhouse eons ago, and when I saw the inspiration teapot, I knew I wanted to photocopy a crossword puzzle from the newspaper and use that as my designer paper.
I first covered the birdhouse in acrylic white paint. I applied the crossword puzzle with Mod Podge, as well as my roof tiles that I made with the larger oval punch. The bird's wing is popped up on a dimensional, and these old SU rub-ons were perfect for my project!
It's late and I need to get to bed so I can get up for work in the morning. I'll get this posted to my blog tomorrow. Oh, and if I'm late for work, it's all my friend, Lynn's, fault. See, she called me about 9:00 p.m. tonight with a couple of questions, which woke up Bertie, forcing her to get her big butt outta her chair and create sumpin' for Teapot Tuesday. Therefore, we stayed up too late! (I love having an alter ego to blame things on---LOL!)
Thanks for looking, and your comments are always appreciated!
Oh, and ya might wanna beware. Bertie took off a little while ago to go to Walmart and purchase No. 2 lead pencils and a new pencil sharpener for the party tomorrow for when we all work these crossword puzzles. You might wanna wear protective goggles cuz I know she's gonna be really annoyed when SCS goes down for the day. That girl can't stand to be without her SCS fix!!!

Oh my. I was hoping I'd get this far in the gallery before the clock ran out of time. You've really aced this - both a crossword and somewhere to live. Not that it would be great for long - if Chris has missed that last clue, especially with all the help he's been getting, I can't see them staying as lovebirds for too long!! And I love those colours, too. Always such a great combination.
Got to fly - but alas not into your darling bird house.

Bertie, don't get mechanical pencils like Lorraine says....I can't ever figure out how to turn them on. I am not so good with mechanical things and the mechanic never can fix them. Have you ever noticed that mechanics are always laughing? Giggle!
OMG! This is so awesome! I love that you gotta use your little birdhouse thingy you bought when you were 2! Yes, you are old!! Is that Ruby guarding this place? And I suppose Swoop will dive bomb Crisanne when she tries to move in. Bertie, do you always have to be such a trouble maker??? Like making Charlene late for woik and blaming it on Lynn.
This is awesome....I love how you did the roof and what an eye cather it is.....do you remember what color we are supposed to buy????

What a perfect birdhouse! LOVE the roof and that bright red birdie! Thanks for the heads up - safety goggles are now in place for whatever Bertie starts flinging!

Hey Bodacious (bold and brazen) Bertie,
Sniggle, sniggle ... kept you up late, did I? Well get used to it ... there'll be no slackers on my watch! And if you think Tilly is forceful now, just wait till she really gets a goin'.
Your delightful birdhouse, sided with a crossword puzzle makes a "sweet re-tweet" for Bertie's feathered friends.
I still have questions regarding the challenges in general, so I hope you let me borrow a pencil. I need to start a list and write them all down. Then I can remember to ask you about them later. As if I have a memory??? Or maybe I should search for a yellow sticky note ... I could jot them down ... in red lipstick! Ooooooooooooooooh.
Regardless of whether I remember or forget, or remember to forget, my appreciation for all you've done is gonna be captured on my next Country Western tune! Listen for it on the radio!

WOWZERS!!!! I love your little crossword puzzle house. It made me think that the birds were going to appreciate having a house made of crossword puzzles rather than lining them !!!
