Merry Christmas everyone! All the kids wished for a White Christmas and we sure did get one!
Well, we had an usual Christmas this year in Oklahoma...could you believe on Christmas Eve we had blowing snow at 65mph and in our yard we had over 6ft of snow drifts. We ended up with 12 inches of snow. I thank my lucky stars that we had all our Christmas shopping done on Wed. Today, the kids and I played in it and made snowman's while my husband did the shoveling. It made us think why we sold our snow blower while being stationed in Minnesota. Today we saw tractors as snowplows, weird!
Todays Limited Supplies Challenge is called It's A Wrap. We were to create a card using scraps of wrapping paper, ribbon, or something from a greeting card. I chose all 3 things.
I also saw the Inspiration Challenge and found my inspiration piece here from the PoshTots store. http://www.poshtots.com/Gifts/Gifts-...uctDetail.aspx. I found the perfect house and snowman on a Christmas card. I was trying to make the card look like my house. I started out by cutting the house and the snowman out of the card. I had torn 4 pieces of white c/s and adhered with glue. I placed the house inside one of the white snow c/s. I punched out 3 MS Christmas trees and adhered to the snow as well. I adhered the snowman too. I added liquid applique to the white edging of the torn paper, Christmas trees, the sky, and went over the spots on the house (which were already there). I made a little bit of smoke coming from the chimney and colored it gray with the liquid applique. I also added blue c/s to fit underneath the white c/s and adhered in place. I stamped the single row of Christmas lights, colored them using colored markers, cut out carefully, and adhered them onto the edge of the house. I stamped the deer, colored it, and cut out. I added a tiny bow from wrapping paper, cut out, and adhered to the wreathe that was already on the door. I stamped the Nativity scene with black ink and used colored pencils. Cut out! It is held on with a pop dot. I really had fun creating this Christmas card because it reminds me of our house this year...Thanks for the challenge and my husband wanted to know why I was creating a Christmas card. I told him for our scrapbook! Thanks for dropping by and taking a peek. Have a wonderful night!
