I needed a sympathy card and thought the Flowers in Silhouette embossed in black would look good. First I lightly stamped the En Francais b/g stamp on yellow card stock, then I used versamark and black embossing powder for the silhouette flowers on top. I went with a yellow and black color combo and also used the En Francais b/g stamp on the circular greeting in a light yellow and stamped the greeting in black over the top of it. The yellow card stock had great lined texture already~which you probably can't see in the photo~, so I opted not to use an ef. I stamped a b/g flower stamp in black on the bottom portion of the card and added a ribbon. I paper pierced the first main panel of the card and popped up on dimensionals. I also popped up 2 of the image layers on dimensionals as well as the greeting.
It's never a good time to make a sympathy card; but, unfortunately, we need them to send our comfort, thoughts and prayers to those in time of need.
P.S. It was hard to get the photo right with the black and yellow colors, but I did the best I could.
Thanks so much for taking the time to look and if you have a chance, let me know what you think.

Love the serenity of this one, Pam. The receiver will really appreciate it. I always forget about my background stamps, and I love the idea of stamping an image over one. (On another note, I'm with you on photographing this color combo. I had the same frustrations with the Bella Bleu chipboard calendar. They use the same paper but one side looks more yellow than the other. Oh well...)

Fruitcake, this is exceptional. This, in all honesty, is the first time I've ever favorited one of yours cards ... thankfully, I'm smart enough to know when I can and cannot case someone's card. I'm not certain I could ever come close to this gem, but I'm sure going to try. Fruitcake, this is just beautiful. The colors are wonderful and the papers, image and piercing are fabulous.

Beautiful! Sympathy cards are never fun to make, but you are right they are for comfort to the ones that have lost. I am sure they will appreciate this Pam. I like the ribbon, roses on the bottom and the layout. Just beautiful.

Do you know that 42 people (me included) favorited this card? Wow - I don't think 42 people ever look at my cards. You did a fantastic job on this card - really. I think someone getting this would feel special and loved and that is what sympathy cards should do. I think Pat Smethers is the Queen of sympathy cards, but you may in line for princess - Princess Pam - has a cute ring to it! I just love the contrast and extra pop of color in just the right places. WOW!
