For the challenge I went with a few around the world facts. See the willow tree and grasses, they are made in America (thatÂ’s a good thing for our country) but the people that own the company are originally from Cornwall EnglandÂ…super nice people!
As for the dollar stamps from MichaelÂ’s, they were all made in China.
And at lastÂ…where did Halloween originate from - Ireland about 2,000 years ago. Read about it here, it hasnÂ’t been an American tradition that long but it sure has caught on in a big way and I love to make Halloween night scene cards! IÂ’ve never timed myself but I bet I can whip one of these scenes up in fifteen minutes or less. Not nearly as much work as the written description but my friend likes to case my cards so I give her all the details I can possibly think of!
-Mask off the ground portion of the panel with a torn piece of paper. Save the other piece to be used in a later step. Also mask off the moon using a punched circle from a sticky note.
-Ink up and brayer on the pink from the bottom of the card starting rolling off the card.
-Ink up the brayer with the lightest blue and roll onto the cardstock starting from the top and working down onto the pink, then repeat with the next darkest blue keeping higher than the previous application until all three are applied. I repeat each color multiple times. I move my brayer in a rapid motion and pick it up and let it spin then continue rolling. The cardstock really makes a difference in your results and working with this 80% glossy paper works great for me. You can find this glossy paper at most office supply stores in multiple brand names.
-Remove the moon mask and brayer over it without inking up, this will add enough color to tone down the white.
-Remove the ground mask and use that other piece of paper to cover the sky; place it slightly higher than the where the color ends.
-Use the direct to paper technique and just rub the pad onto the cardstock.
-Stamp on all the images.
- -The bats are paper sculpted using a metal ball stylus and folded paper towel. Score lines on the front, flip over and roll between the scores to raise the cardstock.
The pumpkin on the circle sentiment was colored with Prismacolor pencils.
