Okay, before you call the challenge police let me explain. I did not have the proper supplies to do the painted grid today. BU,T I did have paint, a brush and two Clear Dollar Stamp birdies that needed a cage. SO I painted the faux grid around them. If this is totally out of control, please pm me and I will remove it from the gallery.
I had a somewhat stressful Sunday. Rosco Dog was sick. In all the eight years that I have had him, he has not once refused food. Yesterday, he walked away from his dish. I was so worried about him. This morning he was feeling much better. So I had a little talk with him to see what caused his tummy to be upset.
He kindly told me that he had over heard me mention that next Saturday he will be eight years old. He also heard me say that in people years he would be 56. That is what sent him into a depression of sorts. So I said, at least you aren't as old as me! His tail wagged.......All is good....now the card......
Stamped the birdies on w/c paper. Colored w/re-inkers. Drew the cage, branch they are on and tree. All other coloring done with re-inkers too.
I then took a very thin brush and painted the black "grid" lines. Layered my scene with black and green cs.
Put on a white sort of square card that I put some misc. dp on and added the dots. Also punched out four circles of cork for the corners.
Please forgive me for cheating here. I promise I won't do it again!.......Hope you like this..... TFL :0)

It's a painted grid, yes! The challenge, no. A really beautiful card I am glad to see, yes! Two out of three ain't bad ;-).
Love the background paper, but also those lovely little birds. How sad they are in a cage, but at least they are hanging out under the tree.

I'll specifically ask if you and I can share a jail cell together. As long as they let us have our stamping supplies, they can feed us and we can stamp away and call it a vacation. Let our husbands clean the pools and invoice trucks. I love your painted grid used as a cage. I always enjoy looking for your creations!! They are always so artistic and creative!!!

All is forgiven for cheating. How could we not love this creation. What a super way to use that set.. If only we could all draw like this we wouldn't need stamps...SUper job.

Only you have a mind that embraces being able to jump in the challenge without all the right stuff! You talk about challenge police? Girl, cheat once, and then every time you cheat, it just gets easier and easier, and then you have no clue if you're cheating or not. See how easy it is to outsmart the challenge cops? Now on to the card: I love the birds surrounded by your handmade cage. Wonderfully colorful and too goood to keep just at the gallery level. You really need to take your cards outside this environment. I know there has to be so many companies that would scraf these babies one in a NY minute.
