I was really pleased to see that Lynn had given us the Faux Grid technique today. It was the CCEE challenge last week, and I had fun with it but didn't do what was in my mind, which was a peacock inspired by a lovely ceramic tiled tray my mother used to have.
My base is A2, covered with some Joanna Sheen marbled paper.
The peacock layer was made by stamping the peacock with black onto white card, and colouring with watercolour pencils. I added some Sakura Stardust for glitter - turquoise to the peacock's crest, and clear to all the green eyes. I randomly stamped the flower from Roses in Winter with ColorBox Pigment Prussian Blue, and added some green to the centres. Then I drew the lines in with a brown pencil. Some lines are double lines, for extra interest. I also sponged in a little bit of light brown to give an aged effect. Then I used Versamark and UTEE to build up 3 layers of glaze, after trimming it down to size and punching the corners. I stuck this to the base, and added black Stickles around the edge of the card, and faux brads with turquoise Stickles in each corner.
Despite the rainy day meaning an indoor photo, I hope you can still see some of the sparkle.

I can see the sparkle just fine, Sabrina. Love how this reminds of your mom's tray. Such pleasant memories, so I trust this is going to be one of those keepers! Just beautiful.
