Hi! This card was made for todayÂ’s Color Combination Challenge: Tempting Turquoise, Apricot Appeal, Creamy Caramel and Baja Breeze.
I have to say, I wanted to use this stamp set from the very MOMENT I received it in the mailÂ…I called Flourishes, and BEGGED them to let me use this set for todayÂ’s challenge, as it is being released this Friday. The kind ladies there agreed, and I got to work!
The images were stamped colored in using SU! Apricot Appeal for the centers of the shells. The variation in color was made by re-inking the areas SEVERAL times. This increases the intensity. The blue Shell was sponged with Baja Breeze and Tempting Turquoise. The Scallop was sponged with Apricot Appeal all over. Then, I sponged on Creamy Caramel. The sea oats were stamped in Cream Caramel.
The sun was made by punching out a 1/2" circle in a scrap. I sponged in Apricot Appeal lightly and then re-sponged over one side to create a more intense lay down of color. The Sand was made by sponging in Creamy Caramel. The sky/sea was created by sponging Baja Breeze all over and adding in Tempting Turquoise for highlights.
The die cuts are from Spellbinders. I sponged Baja Breeze onto the Tempting Turquoise medallion. This was a MISTAKE, but I LOVED the result! LOL!

I am so exited to see you here tonight, Faith, as our Challenge Mod!! You have chosen your current signature colors, which are gorgeous. I hope I can stay up late enough to come up with something worthy. Your sample is beautiful (as usual!). Thanks so much for subbing for Emily.
