this is for todays inspiration challenge. Glenda Mosher's Art Gallery--SCS-RobinRingtail. I chose this beautiful Iris painting
I instantly thought of this lovely Iris stamp up on my shelf that hasn't seen ink in a long time.
I love the multicolors around the iris and a the rich full greens across the bottom.
I used markers direct to the stamp then filled in just a hint here and there with gamsol/prisma pencils. one small Iris is cut out and 3D on top of some twisted loops of gold cording.
what do you think!
hope I did this painting justice...I really had fun.
I admire Glenda's amazing talent!
thanks for stopping by~it makes my day!

Judy, this is gorgeous. My two favorite flowers are sunflowers and irises. A few years ago a friend gave me some iris bulbs to plant. I tried, but my cats kept digging them up. After a couple of years of trying I finally gave up. It was then that they finally took root. That first year there was folliage but no blooms. The next year it was just looking like they were going to bloom and you would think that would have made me happy but I just found out my husband had been transfered and we were going to have to move. I kept looking at the flower and thinking about how it had been transplanted and still flourished so I thought ok if this flower blooms that is validation that I will be ok. It was coming up on Mother's day and it looked like it was ready to open up. On Mother's day it did open I was so excited. That was short lived when my little daughter went and dug it up so that I could enjoy it. I thought it was going to die, but we ended up taking it to our new house and it is still alive. I can't wait for it to bloom this year.
