This is my first go at today's IC. I hope to be back with some owls later, but I just fell for these http://www.hunkydoryhome.co.uk/hunky...s-c-34_40.html funky doorstops. They reminded me of Anna Wight's cute little chickens . Mind you, it took me a while to find the bigger pictures on the site. (Because, maybe for the first time ever, I didn't look at Stef's thumbnails but jumped right into the site...more haste, less speed, festina lente and all that).
You can see them enjoying the last of our snow, though more is forecast; last night even the inside of the car windscreen was iced over!
I cut semicircles for the bodies, folded them in half and trimmed a small wedge off. The wattles and combs are cut freehand, the beaks are small squares of yellow card cut diagonally in half and stuck on. I took a bit of liberty and added hearts for tails instead of the little label, and a sentiment to work for yesterday's LSC, and to turn them into more obvious gift tags. A bit of sponging, some wobble eyes and that was it. Well, a quarter circle stuck on the back, just to tidy up where all the bits and bobs were stuck on...
I know they open at the bottom instead of the side, but what of it, it's the only way they'd work
