I'm a day late with the challenge for the Recessed Window that was for yesterday. I was too busy with volunteer work at the schools so I decided to do it late last night. This to me was a tricky challenge. After an hour I figured it out. This is only a card front for my husbands scrapbook. I hope you like it and it fits the challenge. These challenges are really helping me get a start on doing my husbands scrapbook too.
Here is my story:
I started out by cutting 2 pieces of cardboard from a postage box I had and made them 6x6. I cut out the center for 2 1/2x 2 1/2 hole. I didnt want to mess with modpodge so I just used the Tombo glue stick to add the dp. It sticks really good too. I then sponged with distress ink around the edges. I really wanted to do something more with this frame but settled just on the Marine Corp emblem which is a sticker mounted onto chipboard. I took the sticker my husband had in his toolbox. Then it is placed on a MS pop dot. I stamped 2 swords onto silver c/s and used versamark ink to emboss with silver and black powder. Cut each one out. I had to do one sword backwards with the emboss and cut out too. Mounted. I stamped the Marines logo onto white c/s with black ink and embossed it using clear powder. Then sponged it using distress ink also. This is the only flag that I had that fit this space on top of the card. I used my colored markers, sponged with distress ink, and clear emboss powder. Cut out. The stars I used the cb star die cuts onto gold metallic c/s. The stars, flag, the Marines are all on there with foam tape. Thanks for looking!
Does this fit the challenge for the Recessed Window?
Have a wonderful day!
