This is my card for today's IC, Lang Calendars. I didn't take any particular month from the Love to Cook calendar, but Voila was perfect for a generic card based on the calendar - http://www.lang.com/CGI-BIN/lansaweb...D+language=ENG.
Someone in work wanted three thank-you cards on behalf of his mother, which somewhat wipes out my supply of thank-you cards, so that was what I thought I'd make.
I made the background using two K&Co papers . Given the state of many of my cookery books, I distressed the text paper more than I normally would, although I think against the black card base it doesn't really show. I made the side by punching some of the black card with the scallop edge punch, and sliding every other scallop under the card. The little faux brads were made with a scrap of card I coloured with the same paint as his neck-scarf, and when the Crackle Accents dry, they will be a bit distressed too.
I pieced his trousers with a scrap of paper, painted his scarf and skin with H2Os and stamped Merci from Carte Postale onto his platter. More Glossy Accents on his buttons. Plain and simple fare on the menu today, TFL.

WOW! This is so cute. I'm going to have to invest in other stamp campanies whenever I decide to hit the lottery. Nice dp.

What a fun and creative card, Sabrina! Always love the chef but really like how you colored him and pieced his trousers! The scalloped border is so unique! Great design!
