I made this card for Technique Lover's challenge 188 -- Batik-The Colorwash Way.
I was in the mood of making some Holiday cards and wanted to try the colors I hardly used -- Handsome Hunter I used the ink once or twice but I never used the cardstock until today! (and I've have the color since 2005)
I used Baroque Motifs for the batik technique with handsome hunter and riding hood red reinkers. I don't have any misters so I had to find the different way -- the sponges to put the colors on the watercolor paper.
After the tree image was stamped, I added the liquid applique, Stickles and dots with red gel pen on the tree.
I have a mix feeling about the color combo...maybe I'm just not a Handsome Hunter kind of girl ;)

I have loved seeing the differences in the way the reinkers blend when using sponges vs. misters. I think the colors blend more with misters but stay clean and true w/ sponges, and these two look fabulous together this way! Love the beautiful baroque swirls, that classic tree, and the scalloped, dotted edge. Fantastic card!
